Robert: If you’re not going to build a junk PC there are couple of filtering questions you should ask before you start buying parts. First decision, is this going to be a gaming box or not? If you want to do first person shooters, you need to spend a lot more money on a GP than on a processor; but not so much when you’re doing World of War craft, you just need something with a little [umpf]. Second decision, is this going to be a Blu-ray box? If you’re going to do Blu-ray, you need a Blu-ray drive, you need a decent GPU that basically offloads the Blu-ray decoding from your CPU. And you still need a little bit of CPU power for that, too. Totally.
